Jackson, MI—PMA announced the annual joint conferences of the Professional School Photographers Association International (PSPA) and the Sports Photographers Association of America (SPAA) will feature two major speakers: Frank Keck and Steve Fine.

The event begins Friday, February 17, 2012, with a kick-off reception, and PSPA and SPAA programming will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 18-19, 2012.
Steve Fine, director of Photography, for Sports Illustrated will take convention-goers on a wild ride through the lens of SI photographers on February 18, from 9-10:15 a.m. He will also demonstrate new SI digital products.

Frank Keck starts the conference on February 18, 12:00 noon – 1:30 p.m., with his presentation, “Embrace Your Freakness.” What is Freakness? Einstein had it. So did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Steve Jobs. Cirque du Soleil, Peyton Manning, Blue Man Group and Oprah have it now, according to Keck. These people learned how to embrace their freakness. They figured out what their inherent excellence was and how to make the most of it. Achievement is not so much what you end up with, as much as how well you maximize your latent abilities, explains Keck.

For PSPA and SPAA member, registration fees are $299. Nonmembers will pay $479. Registration includes access to all educational sessions on Saturday and Sunday, the keynote luncheon on Saturday, the official business luncheon on Sunday, a welcome reception, vendor reception and coffee breaks.

Conference attendees can also attend without charge the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) trade show, being held February 20-23, 2012, at the MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. pmai.org
