As we once again face the fallout from a Covid rebound, we’re pleased to bring you our annual State of the Industry report. This year, we asked our readers to reflect upon the lessons learned over the last 18 months.

Reflecting on Lessons Learned

I believe you’ll find it interesting to hear the different perspectives of the issues that we all faced; these insights come from dealers, manufacturers, trade associations as well as research organizations. Our goal is to present these perspectives to deliver a 360º understanding of the pressures that are faced at every level.

It is my sincere hope that we will soon put this pandemic in the rearview mirror and once again thrive in a normal retail environment.

I’d also like to thank all of those who contributed their points of view. You can read our report here.

In addition, we are grateful to the manufacturers for their continued innovation during the last year. Our review of enthusiast digital SLRs and top telephoto and tele-zoom lenses reflects the continued commitment to product excellence by the leading manufacturers in our industry; these product innovations should spur sales as we approach the holiday season.

Now that summer is over, we can all look toward the beautiful colors that will adorn the trees this autumn; as well as the joys (and sales) of the coming holiday season.

I hope you enjoy this edition of Digital Imaging Reporter.
