I didn’t know what to expect this year. After all, we’re still coming off a global pandemic that upset everything from supply chains and product availability to a changing consumer landscape. Things were far from business as usual.

However, as I read the essays from our contributors, I found myself smiling. The optimism that permeates through our markets continues to impress me. We’re seeing new, younger consumers evolving from photographers and image makers to content creators. There’s also a renewed interest in printing and photo gifts.

The iPhone is all but ubiquitous in our society; however, that isn’t stopping high-end imaging enthusiasts and professionals clamoring for new technologies in camera bodies and lenses. In addition, the need for organizing and digitizing existing memories continues to grow at an astounding rate. And imaging manufacturers continue to raise the bar on imaging technologies.

We always appreciate those who have taken the time to contribute to this issue. As the only trade magazine dedicated to the imaging industry, we’re proud to bring you our State of the Industry issue. We hope you share the enthusiasm that we continue to feel about this industry
