This is customarily the time of year when new products, both pro and consumer, begin to hit the shelves. And as the only trade magazine dedicated exclusively to the imaging industry, we feel it is our responsibility to be your resource for making sense of it all.
First, our 13th Rudy Award winners highlight notable, recently introduced products as well as those our editors feel were extraordinary at photokina and CES. The awards are our annual salute to one of our founders, the late Rudy Maschke, who always encouraged us to look for the unexpected.
In addition, our WPPI Wedding Photography Product Showcase features products earmarked for the wedding photographer’s market. Attendees should be able to “touch and feel” these products at the show.
Moreover, of course our Just Announced section leads our monthly roundup of products released into the photo-imaging market in the last month.
Our legacy has always been to keep our readers informed of new products. And also to help make sense of them and put them in context. Jason Schneider’s look at pro lighting kits is a perfect example of something that we take very seriously—putting product groups in perspective for our readers.
We could just run straight press releases and call it a day. However, it is the extra thought that goes into each story that provides our value to DIR’s readers. We hope you agree.
