2024 Hasselblad Foundation Award Honors Laureate Ingrid Pollard

Parsippany, NJ—Hasselblad, in collaboration with the Hasselblad Foundation, announced the continuation of their partnership. Subsequently, the 2024 Hasselblad Foundation Award honors Ingrid Pollard with a Hasselblad flagship camera and lenses.

Moreover, this is the third consecutive year the Hasselblad Foundation Award includes the Hasselblad camera and lenses. Previous winners Dayanita Singh and Carrie Mae Weems both received the Hasselblad X2D 100C as well as the 907X 50C.

2024 Hasselblad Foundation Award

Internationally recognized, the Hasselblad Award recognizes individuals whose work significantly impacts the field and pushes artistic boundaries. Furthermore, as the 44th recipient of the Hasselblad Award, Pollard joins an exclusive group of previous Hasselblad Award laureates. These notable photographers include Ansel Adams (1981), Cindy Sherman (1994), Hiroshi Sugimoto (2001), Dayanita Singh (2022) as well as 2023 laureate, Carrie Mae Weems.

Hasselblad will present Pollard with its flagship medium-format camera and lenses at the Hasselblad Foundation Award ceremony. The company has scheduled the event for Friday, October 11, 2024, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Ingrid Pollard, 2024 Hasselblad Award Laureate

Ingrid Pollard was born in 1953 in Georgetown, Guyana, and raised in London. She is a leading figure in British contemporary art, renowned for her profound contributions to photography and art. She currently resides in Northumberland, in northeastern England. What’s more, her work questions deeply engrained social and cultural constructs behind race, identity, community and gender. Pollard’s work is included in numerous collections, including the UK Arts Council and Victoria & Albert Museum.
