Los Angeles, CA—The 6th Lucie Technical Awards, an initiative of the Lucie Foundation and sister program of the Lucie Awards, announced the 2021 winners. The annual awards honor the most innovative products from the past year and the innovators who shaped the industry.
Moreover, the Lucie Technical Awards (LTA) recognize the highest achievements in the world of technology. The awards honor large and small companies, as well as the individuals who have advanced the photographic industry in a given year. All-inclusive, they encompass cameras, lenses, lighting, accessories and software.
The LTA board members also aim to pay tribute to the hard-working engineers and manufacturers who contribute to taking photographic images to the next level. The newly established LTA advisory board takes part in recognizing and rewarding deserving companies and individuals who share the passion of making incredible imagery through innovative technology. The panel consists of editors, technology experts, writers as well as industry professionals. All of these individuals have dedicated their careers to photography and the technology behind it.
Further, once again, the Chuck Westfall Award honors one of our industry’s finest influencers and educators.

2021 Chuck Westfall Technical Education Award
This distinguished honor is awarded to an influential voice in the photographic industry who displays an extraordinary commitment and love for the art and technology of photography. What’s more, it is named for Chuck Westfall. He was a longtime Canon employee who was known as the “teacher of technology” to journalists and the photo industry in general.
This year’s honoree is Rudy Winston, Technical Advisor, Product Planning Division, Canon USA.
