Toronto, Canada—Ilgvars Broks, a well-known figure in the photofinishing and digital lab business, passed away on October 16, following emergency heart surgery. Broks had been executive vice president of BGM Colour Laboratories in Toronto, retiring several years ago to become a consultant.
Having suffered several strokes earlier this year, Broks had a heart attack a week ago, from which he failed to recovery.
The highlights of his distinguished career include being a former president of the Association of Professional Color Labs (APCL) and a recipient of the 2001 PMA Distinguished Service Award.
