Newark, NJ—Panasonic is looking for a range of photographers it can crown honorary Luminary team members via a Lumix photo contest: Winter Fun. Four winners will be selected per challenge, three by an existing Panasonic Luminary team member and the other by a popular vote.
Hosted on the Lumix Lounge (lumixlounge.com/contest), the Panasonic Lumix photo contest will highlight Lumix cameras and the company’s 4K Photo technology. Now open, the contest ends February 7, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Entrants are asked to submit their best shot focusing on winter fun. They will be able to select their local store upon submission and share their photographs through social channels (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and Google+).
Prizes for the Luminary Choice Awards include: First Place, a DMC-GX8 body ($1,199.99 value), a 12–35mm ($999.99) and a 42.5mm f/1.7 ($399.99) lens, a 32GB U3 Panasonic memory card ($49.99) and an honorary Luminary patch ($5.00); Second Place, a DMC-G7 body ($799.99), a 35–100mm f/4.0–5.6 ($399.99) lens and a 32GB U3 Panasonic card ($49.99); Third Place, a DMC-G7 body, a HX-A1 action cam ($199.99) and a 32GB U3 Panasonic card ($49.99).
The winner of the popular vote will be awarded an honorary Luminary patch.
Lumix Luminary team member and published professional photographer Rick Gerrity will judge the Lumix Winter Fun competition. Based in the NY/NJ metro area, Gerrity’s images of people include Paul Newman, Sylvester Stallone and Oliver Stone, as well as real-life reflections of street life in America’s cities and towns. Gerrity calls his street photography, “Hybrid photography at its best. Video and stills combined for the ultimate storytelling experience.” His commercial images include work for BMW, Panasonic, IBM, Sony and Oleg Cassini.
