Tech Trends: Digital Cameras as Gifts

May and June were the next biggest contributors to 2009 digital still camera (DSC) unit sales outside of the holidays. Gifting was 25 percent of all May purchases, compared to 55 percent in December, at a higher ASP. May 2009’s gift ASP was $169 compared to a “non-gifted” average price of $214 for the month, while December’s gift ASP was just $128 compared to a “non-gifted” average price of $201 for the month.
