Los Angeles, CA—Tickets for the 20th Lucie Awards are now on sale. The Lucie Foundation will present the gala live at Zankel Hall in Carnegie Hall, New York City, on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Moreover, acclaimed Broadway actor Alton Fitzgerald White will again host this year’s presentation. White is most widely known for his record-breaking 4,308 performances as King Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway.
The Lucie Awards is an annual event honoring the greatest achievements in photography. The photography community from around the globe pays tribute to the most outstanding people in the field. Each year, the Lucie advisory board nominates deserving individuals across a variety of categories. They then name an honoree in each category. Furthermore, the Lucie Awards is the signature program of Lucie Foundation.
Along with this year’s extraordinary honorees, the Lucie Foundation and the global photography community will recognize the talented winners from the 2023 International Photography Awards (IPA) juried competition. The IPA is the foundation’s sister effort. In all, the presented awards will include this year’s Lucie honorees, IPA prizes and Lucie Support Category Awards. In addition, the foundation will have a special tribute to those in the industry who have passed on.

- Achievement in Fine Art: Jo Ann Callis
- Achievement in Portraiture: Ming Smith
- Achievement in Fashion: David LaChapelle
- Achievement in Photojournalism: Carol Guzy
- Achievement in Documentary: Jamel Shabazz
- Achievement in Sports: Donald Miralle
- Achievement in Entertainment: Firooz Zahedi
- Humanitarian Award: Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier
- Spotlight/Visionary Award: Antwaun Sargent
