Sanyo Names ToCAD Master Distributor for eneloop & Alkaline Batteries

Chatsworth, CA—Sanyo North America Corporation has signed a new distribution arrangement for its consumer batteries, appointing ToCAD America Inc. as the master distributor for Sanyo batteries in the U.S.

According to the agreement, ToCAD, which is now celebrating 22 years in the photo-imaging industry, will provide fulfillment and distribution for Sanyo’s expanding eneloop and alkaline consumer battery lines.

Sanyo’s eneloop is a NiMH rechargeable battery that combines the features of an alkaline battery with the benefits of a battery that can be recharged up to 1,000 times. Due to their low self-discharging characteristics, eneloop batteries come pre-charged and ready for use. Sanyo will continue the R&D of its eneloop technology and will handle end-user support through the Sanyo Customer Support Department in Chatsworth, California.

“We are delighted to have added ToCAD as a partner for smooth operational efficiency and support for our battery business,” said Andrew Nelkin, president, Consumer Solutions Division. “This will help us expand our consumer battery business, continue to enhance service to our customers, and allow us to continue to provide new and exciting battery solutions.”

ToCAD America, a subsidiary of Japan’s ToCAD Energy Co., is the U.S. distributor for Sunpak digital flash units, frames and projectors, professional studio lighting equipment, tripods, batteries/chargers, filters, conversion lenses and adapters. ToCAD also markets Hakuba tripods, bags and camera accessories.

All three of ToCAD’s key lines are distributed nationwide through photo and video specialty dealers, catalogs and national chains. us.sanyo.com and tocad.com
