CES 2016 Breaks Records with 170,000+ Attendees

Arlington, VA—The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced record-breaking attendance for this year’s expansive CES show. In fact, CTA reported that CES 2016 broke records across the board. CTA is the owner and producer of CES.

More than 3,800 consumer electronics exhibitors jammed the Las Vegas Convention Center halls and other show venues. They presented a range of consumer electronics technologies and products across more than 2.47 million net square feet of exhibit space. According to CTA, “CES 2016 touched every major global industry and showcased the latest wave of products and technologies that are connecting the world, enhancing lives and solving global challenges.”

More than 170,000 CE industry professionals, including 50,000+ from outside the U.S. were drawn to this year’s high-level business event. And and over 6,000 members of the media attended. Attendees came from more than 150 countries. This included the first Cuban delegation, organized by the Cuban Embassy of the U.S.

“Technology now touches every facet of our lives, from improving our workouts and the way we sleep, to keeping us safe on the roads and in our homes and even preventing or treating illnesses,” said Gary Shapiro, CTA president and chief executive officer. “CES has cemented its position as the global gathering place for all industries to be wowed by the tens of thousands of ways that technology is changing the world as we know it.”

The show also received impressive social media momentum. There were 1,278,870 mentions of the #CES2016 hashtag and  15.2 billion total potential social media impressions from January 5–9, 2016.

CES 2017

The Consumer Technology Association also announced the date of  next year’s CES. CES 2017 will be held January 5–8, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. cta.tech
