Los Angeles, CA—The Lucie Foundation announced that its 2021 Lucie Foundation Scholarship program opened on April 30, 2021. The program encompasses four categories of cash grants. Moreover, the deadline for applications is August 1, 2021.

“The Lucie Foundation is proud to support emerging talent with vision and dynamic ideas that challenge and progress the art form of still photography into work that compels. Our support of photography is broad, from fine art to documentary and photojournalism, to digital and film-based works. Our concern is to support emerging photographers producing work that is at once gripping and original,” the foundation announced.

The Lucie Foundation offers four cash grants to support the work of emerging as well as established photographers.

  1. One key fact that this story doesn’t provide is that you have to pay to apply for one of these scholarships – from $25 down to $10 for the smaller value scholarships. This is not so much an altruistic initiative from the tax-exempt Lucie Foundation, but a money-making initiative posing as something nobler.
