Melville, NY—Canon USA launched a contest to find the next modern day “Rebel With A Cause.”

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the EOS Rebel SLR camera, Canon is embarking on a yearlong quest to follow modern day rebels who challenge convention in their own way. The story of these unique individuals will be documented by the Canon EOS Rebel T6i DSLR.

Canon is searching for individuals who challenge the status quo in positive ways to further their passion, belief or cause. Participants are encouraged to submit a photo or video essay to share what makes them a Rebel With A Cause.

One grand prize winner will be given the opportunity to have their cause brought to life with their own documentary production. The productio will be similar to those of previous Rebels Nik Wallenda and Swizz Beatz. In addition, they will receive a Canon EOS T6i camera and lens package. They will also earn $10,000 in cash prizes to support their cause, and press and media exposure for their cause.

“Canon has always made it a priority to make what was once thought to be impossible possible. It’s one of the reasons we created the EOS Rebel cameras,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon USA, Inc, when launching the Rebel With A Cause project.  “The heart of this campaign is about showcasing modern day rebels entirely through the eyes of a Canon EOS Rebel camera. And also encouraging people to take their creativity to the next level and to tell their own unique stories.”
