San Mateo, CA—GoPro announced the GoPro Million Dollar Challenge has returned. It now features the recently announced Hero8 Black and MAX action cameras. the company also announced updates to the GoPro app.
GoPro Million Dollar Challenge
The competition is now open exclusively to owners of the Hero8 Black or MAX. Currently in its second year, the competition will award an equal share of $1,000,000 to entrants whose video clips are included in the GoPro Million Dollar Challenge video. GoPro will release the video in late January 2020. Entry into the challenge, now open, ends on January 12, 2020.

The Updated GoPro App
In related news, GoPro also released updates to the GoPro app. Moreover, with the GoPro update, GoPro built in all of the capabilities of its Quik app. In addition, the GoPro app supports both GoPro and phone content in edits. It also now allows users to apply filters to single clips as well as multi-clip edits. Moreover, it now streams live at Full HD 1080p resolution on both the Hero8 Black and MAX action cameras. 
What’s more, the app’s auto-generated video edit feature has four new themes inspired by iconic GoPro edits from the company’s in-house media team. Users can choose between adrenaline seeker, adventure travel, cinematic and memory curator. And they are able to share directly to social media or store content within the app as an editable draft to revisit.
