You can let your imagination run wild. However, you must take all submissions shooting in low light with an Insta360 Ace or Ace Pro camera. There are two rounds to the competition. The first round ran from December 11–18, 2023. The second round runs from December 18–25, 2023. That gives you another chance to win a cash prize.

To enter:

  • Use your Insta360 Ace or Ace Pro to shoot some low-light magic.
  • Post your best shots on YouTube and the official Ace & Ace Pro Facebook Community with the hashtag #AcedTheShot.
  • Remember to tag @insta360 in your YouTube video.

Insta360 will reward three winners in the first round with a total of $1,000 in prize money. First place gets $500. Second place garners $300, and third place is awarded $200.

What’s more, the second round will have two winners for every prize. Insta360 will announce these winners on January 5, 2023. That means six winners total and $2,000 to be dished out:

  • 2x 1st place: $500
  • 2x 2nd place: $300
  • 2x 3rd place: $200

Furthermore, the master of low light himself, Brandon Li, is judging both rounds! If you’re not familiar with his work, check out low light inspiration on YouTube.

Tips & Tricks

To capture low-light magic, there are a few settings to use for truly cinematic shots. For instance, PureVideo is the go-to shooting mode for night shots and low-light scenes. It reduces noise and enhances brightness for optimized image quality at night.

Second, there is auto mode. In this mode, the Ace and Ace Pro manage color, sharpness, white balance and more. Furthermore, auto mode is enabled by default. Of course, you can switch to manual if you want.

The third trick is to keep your exposure at 0. For extremely dark conditions, try +0.5 to +1. For that atmospheric effect, try -0.5 to -1.

Finally, for any intense activities at night, turn on the low-light stabilization function. This is only recommended when you really need stabilization. That’s because turning it on in a dark environment will decrease the overall brightness.

Remember to post to both YouTube and Facebook to enter.
