Photo Printing Site Expands into Niche Vertical Market


Huntington Beach, CA—MailPix, a photo printing, canvas and gifting site, announced the acquisition of personalized photo pet product website, Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MailPix plans to expand the core business of and offer many new personalized photo gift products over the next few months. One of most popular features of—free personalized ID tags—will continue to be offered.
“The acquisition of continues the MailPix strategy of expanding into adjacent vertical markets,” said Fred H. Lerner, CEO and founder of MailPix. “Cherished pets of all kinds deserve to have their lives preserved and shared through photo books, photo blankets, canvas prints and more.”

MailPix is an online service for printing photos at thousands of retailers from a phone app or PC. The site also offers a mail-to-home service. MailPix preserves photo memories as photo books, canvas, prints, cards, enlargements and also other photo gift products. The service is integrated to print photos from any phone, device or computer.

Fred H. Lerner is the founder and CEO of MailPix, his latest start-up. He previously founded Ritz Interactive, which included, and others. Lerner also founded two imaging companies that were acquired by Kodak and he became the CEO of Kodak Processing Labs. He is a UN Hall of Fame recipient from the International Photographic Council as well as past president of PMAI.

Peter Tahmin, cofounder and COO of MailPix, was the former vice president at Ritz Camera & Image and also cofounder, senior vice president and COO of the Ritz Interactive e-commerce network. He brings more than 20 years of e-commerce experience and a lifetime of imaging industry experience to MailPix.

Ollie, CoChief Quality Assurance Officer at Just4MyPet is a celebration of pets. The company offers for furry family members a unique line of products, most of which can be personalized.

Just4MyPet provides everything from personalized ski jackets, pet attire, bling collars, luxury beds and carriers to pet adoption announcements as well as birthday cards.

“Our goal is to provide you, the pet parent, with an experience which is second to none. Furthermore, our products have all been touched, felt and tested by our own Quality Assurance team. And before we even feature products on our site, they must get the two paws up rating from the team, or we don’t carry it,” the company announced.
