Wycombe, UK—Rotolight and Chauvet & Sons LLC have agreed to an ongoing IP licensing agreement. The new arrangement involves the licensing of Rotolight’s cinematic special effects “CineSFX” patent portfolio in the US, UK and Europe, for use in Chauvet’s Kinoflo LED product range.

Any other infringing companies should now proactively approach Rotolight directly, to secure a licensing agreement on reasonable commercial terms,” said Rotolight’s CEO, Rod Aaron Gammons.

Moreover, Rotolight is a British family-owned business founded in 2009. The company designs LED lighting products for the cine/broadcast and photographic industries. Its products are used by leading filmmakers around the globe, including the recent use on feature films by Netflix, Amazon Studios and SKY. The company’s products are also used by broadcasters, including the BBC and ITV. Other customers comprise Microsoft, EA Sports and Formula 1.

Manufactured in the UK, Rotolight products have pioneered industry-first, patented technologies. Foremost is the first suite of user-customizable cinematic lighting effects (CineSFX). Innovations also include the first electronic diffusion technology (SmartSoft). Furthermore, Rotolight has sold more than 140,000 products in over 41 countries.
