San Jose, CA—At its Flash Perspective event, Western Digital unveiled the SanDisk Professional brand of premium storage solutions for content creators and professionals. The new SanDisk Professional portfolio will comprise scalable, high-performance, reliable solutions, WD announced.

The portfolio includes devices to meet the needs of creators producing a blockbuster film to those capturing the moments of a destination wedding or managing business-critical content. SanDisk-Professional-Portfolio

SanDisk Professional Brand Portfolio

The new line is built on the foundation of the SanDisk consumer brand and WD’s pro-grade G-Technology brand. The latter has been a storage choice of Hollywood professionals for decades.

Pro-Cinema CFexpress VPG400

This is an all-new professional-grade, rugged CFexpress card. Furthermore, it is targeted at videographers and cinematographers needing uninterrupted performance. The card boasts video recording at a minimum of 400MB/s to keep up with the demands of today’s videography, broadcast as well as cinema industries. WD will release the new card this summer.

Pro-Reader Series

Four new Pro-Reader devices feature a USB-C interface that supports SuperSpeed USB 10Gbs. They are compatible with the latest and most common camera media, including CFast, CFexpress, RED Mini-Mag, CF, as well as microSD and SD cards. These readers will also reach retail this summer.

This new four-bay reader docking station can bridge capture and ingest with a scalable offloading solution. Moreover, it will save time and money on multi-camera productions. The Pro-Dock 4, expected later this summer, enables up to four simultaneous card offloads.

Additional Devices

Also in the portfolio are a 4TB G-Drive ArmorLock-encrypted NVMe SSD; G-Drive rugged portable drives; desktop devices featuring enterprise-grade Ultrastar drives; as well as G-RAID and G-RAID Shuttle transportable, enterprise-grade RAID solutions (with both Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C).

Moreover, this lineup offers a range of high-capacity drives for everything from transfer to 100TB+ backup and archive for all types of mission-critical content. The new drives will begin rolling out by early June.
