Kodak Alaris Announces Winners of 29th Kodak Gallery Elite Award

Rochester, NY—Kodak Alaris named the winners of the annual Kodak Gallery Elite Award, which honors photographers who are members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) that have used Kodak Professional photographic paper to perfect their art.

This year marks the 29th anniversary of the award, a culmination of annual state and district awards held throughout the United States in conjunction with the PPA print competitions. Kodak Alaris will showcase the four winning images in its booth, #726, at Imaging USA, the annual PPA conference and trade show held February 1–3, 2015.

Nylora Bruleigh, of Photography by Nylora, was named this year’s grand prize winner for her photograph Ice Princess. The winning image from the Concord, New Hampshire-based photographer, who specializes in women and children’s portraiture, features a young woman dressed in fantasy attire surrounded by walls of ice. The judges selected Bruleigh’s photograph because of its beautiful tones, unique application of composite techniques and adventurous storytelling.

“For nearly 30 years we have celebrated the PPA’s top professional photographers through the Kodak Gallery Elite Awards,” said Christopher S. Van Zandt, vice president and general manager, Paper & Output Systems, Americas Region, Kodak Alaris. “In addition to the artistry and talent exhibited by each of the award winners, they have demonstrated that working with a professional lab and using high-quality Kodak Professional photographic papers offers incremental value to what they provide their clients.”

In addition to Bruleigh, three photographers received Kodak Gallery Elite Awards: 2nd place, Jim LaSala, Jim LaSala Photography, Flemington, New York, for Blind Faith, self-printed using Kodak Professional inkjet lustre photo paper; 3rd place, Kris Doman, KD Portrait Design, West Jordan, Utah, for Watching from the Keep, printed by Nichols Photo Lab; and 4th place, David Jeffery, David Jeffery Photography, Woodstock, New York, for Mast Production, printed by White House Custom Colour.

Each winner will receive the Kodak Gallery Elite crystal trophy and a cash prize. In addition to showing the images at its Imaging USA booth, Kodak Alaris has posted the images online at the Kodak Gallery Elite Winners Showcase. kodakalaris.com
