From Q4 2016 to Q4 2017, detachable-lens cameras saw an increase in purchases in the $750 to $999.99 range, as well as items priced above $1,000. This according to the NPD Group’s U.S. Retail Tracking Service.
Moreover, detachable-lens cameras priced at $750 to $999.99 grew their market share from 6 percent to 11 percent, based on unit sales. This growth in sales of premium products indicates that consumers are willing to spend more for advanced features and quality.
