The big-time and bright lights of New York City will provide the backdrop for CE Week in 2012, with a new venue, more programs and a fresh focus on digital imaging products and initiatives.

The CEA Line Shows, an integral part of CE (Consumer Electronics ) Week, will expand its presence this year at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building, a multilevel building that is expected to attract major media, bloggers, retailers and manufacturers worldwide. The event will take place on June 27-28, 2012.

Now in its fourth year, CE Week will, for the first time, include a new Digital Imaging Pavilion, featuring many of the major manufacturers in the digital imaging space. Participants will be able to purchase floor space to showcase their products for the media, retailers and the digital imaging community during the event.

In addition, the expanded conference program will open with Joe Byrd’s renowned 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference on June 25. The well-respected annual symposium has been at the forefront of futuristic thinking for over 10 years.

“We see CE Week in New York City as the perfect venue to hold our conference in 2012,” said Byrd. “With the confluence of industry leaders, product showcases and media interest, 6Sight will provide a thoughtful presentation of the future of digital imaging on the eve of this exciting week.”

Imaging manufacturers are discovering the tremendous opportunities the annual CEA Line Shows event in New York City holds for them as a midyear stage for their latest and greatest gadgets and gizmos. At the 2011 show, held last year in Manhattan, imaging companies used the crowded show floor to demo their various new hardware and software solutions.

“We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the exposure that the CEA Line Shows afforded us last year,” said Steve Tiffen, president and CEO of The Tiffen Company. “Being able to spend a few days with the media and industry executives, as well as being part of the conference program gave us a huge boost as a run-up to our fall marketing plans.”

“At the CEA Line Shows this year, digital imaging companies will have the opportunity to showcase their midyear product introductions to both the major media outlets as well as to retailers,” said Alan Levine, publisher of Photo Industry Reporter, one of the organizers of the event. “We see this as an important venue to further cement the Digital Imaging/International CES partnership at a critical time of year.”

Major digital imaging manufacturers are beginning to line up to be a part of the show. “Booth space will be extremely affordable, but unlike other showcases, CE Week will allow manufacturers to be connected to the Consumer Electronics Association and the many benefits that they afford,” said Levine. “We think that the CEA Line Shows in general, and the Digital Imaging Pavilion in particular, will begin to establish this midyear New York City show as a cornerstone marketing initiative in the industry.”

CE Week will take place from June 25-29; CE Week’s headquarters is located at 125 W 18th Street, New York City. For information on the Digital Imaging Pavilion at the CEA Line Shows, contact Alan Levine at alevine@direporter.com.
