New York City, NY—Getty Images' cofounder and chief executive officer, Jonathan Klein, announced the appointment of Matthew Bencke as senior vice president of Product and Customer Experience at the global digital media company.

Bencke’s position is a new role within Getty Images, created to advance technology innovations, enhance the user experience and develop new products and services. He will lead product development and e-commerce functions across Getty Images, including gettyimages.com, istockphoto.com and thinkstock.com, as well as the media company’s API, Connect.

Prior to joining Getty Images, Bencke worked at Microsoft, most recently as general manager for the Xbox Live Subscriptions business. He has extensive international experience as a business and product leader across the software and aerospace industries, and directed successful global strategy teams at the Boeing Company.
