Professional Photographers of America Provides Free Profitability Calculator

Atlanta, GA—To help professional photographers take the guesswork out of business planning, Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is offering their proprietary Square One benchmarking and profitability calculator free to nonmember-photographers during the month of March. Pro photographers know that staying financially viable is all about finding the right mix of overhead expenses, rates charged and the number of sessions booked. Often, the approach is part art and part science, and that’s were the calculator will help.

The profitability calculator tool on PPA.com/TrySquareOne is typically a member-only benefit. It takes a minute to complete and will show a photographer how many sessions or average sales per session he or she will need to achieve their desired level of profitability.

“I have checked out Square One; it’s fantastic! It showed me where I have to keep my sales in order to reach my business’s financial goals in short order,” said Kevin Mimms, a PPA member. “It allowed me to do some on-the-fly ‘what if’ queries to get useful insight into how to develop my business/goals moving forward.”

PPA has also developed a video at http://www.PPA.com/TrySquareOne to help photographers understand how to use the tool and why.

“This is just one of the many tools and resources PPA photographers get,” said Kristen Hartman, PPA director of member value and experience. “Our goal is to be an extension of professional photographers’ businesses by helping them be more profitable and successful overall.”

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is an international, nonprofit association created by and serving professional photographers. Through member benefits like protection, education, marketing resources and its annual conference, Imaging USA, PPA assists more than 27,500 professional photographers to create and sustain profitable businesses. ppa.com
