New York, NY—Shutterstock released their third annual Design Trends Infographic, highlighting the changing and increasing demands for different types of photographs and video. In the 2014 edition, Shutterstock used data from more than 350 million all-time image downloads to reveal recent and emerging visual trends worldwide. For example, the company believes there is no question that 4K video is here to stay and filmmakers are demanding more and more 4K footage to supplement their creations, indicating the long-term prospects of this high-quality film format. Shutterstock has also seen a 66% increase in demand for 3D renderings.

“The increasing demand for imagery is leading to new and innovative content types,” said Scott Braut, vice president, Content, Shutterstock. “Businesses and storytellers are using images to communicate in more ways and across more channels than ever before,” added Meagan Kirkpatrick, vice president, Global Communications. shutterstock.com
