The building’s interior design obtained the maximum number of points for LEED’s Sustainable Sites as well as Innovation and Design categories. What’s more, eco-oriented strategies contributing to the Platinum Certification include its location in a densely built urban area with easy access to public transit; nearby amenities like restaurants, parks and cultural centers, bicycle parking and changing rooms; bountiful natural daylight; and also occupancy-sensor lighting controls that turn off lights automatically.
Panasonic will install the LEED plaques in the building lobby. In this way, they will remind employees and visitors of Panasonic’s aim to maintain the highest eco standards.
In announcing the double LEED achievement to employees, Joseph M. Taylor, Panasonic Corp. of North America’s chairman and CEO, emphasized that taking steps to enhance sustainability and practice careful stewardship of Earth’s resources is also good business. panasonic.com
