Panasonic NA’s Newark HQ Is First New Office Tower to Earn Platinum & Gold LEED Certifications

Las Vegas, NV—Panasonic Corp. of North America’s Newark HQ is the first new office tower in Newark, New Jersey, to earn Platinum and Gold LEED certifications. It is located at at Two Riverfront Plaza.

Moreover, the state-of-the-art, 340,000-square-foot, 12-story tower was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Certification. It was awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council for Commercial Interiors. Furthermore, earlier in 2014, it earned LEED Gold Certification for its Core and Shell architecture.

The building’s interior design obtained the maximum number of points for LEED’s Sustainable Sites as well as Innovation and Design categories. What’s more, eco-oriented strategies contributing to the Platinum Certification include its location in a densely built urban area with easy access to public transit; nearby amenities like restaurants, parks and cultural centers, bicycle parking and changing rooms; bountiful natural daylight; and also occupancy-sensor lighting controls that turn off lights automatically.
