Santa Monica, CA—Snap Inc. has appointed Kelly Coffey, currently the chief executive officer of City National Bank, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), to the company’s board of directors. Moreover, Coffey will assume her new role at Snap Inc. effective May 18, 2020.

“As a business leader and finance executive, Kelly brings valuable experience as well as a constructive perspective to the Snap board,” said Evan Spiegel, cofounder and chief executive officer of Snap Inc. “We look forward to benefiting from her expertise as we execute on our strategy over the years to come.”

Kelly Coffey has served as chief executive officer at City National Bank since February 2019. Prior to joining City National Bank, she worked at J.P. Morgan; she most recently served as the chief executive officer of J.P. Morgan’s U.S. Private Bank.

In addition, Coffey holds an MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She also has a BA in International Affairs & French from Lafayette College.
