New York City, NY—Pond5, a royalty-free video marketplace, launched its royalty-free Editorial video collection. The collection features timely footage from current events, sports and entertainment. It also includes video from citizen journalists, who are able to capture unique footage in the moment, as it unfolds.

The new royalty-free model for this content gives filmmakers and creators access to a large collection of news, celebrity, sports and archival footage with one license. In addition, Teichman noted that Pond5 offers it at a fraction of the cost of traditional licensing options; footage in the collection starts at $79 a clip.
To build the new collection, Pond5 partnered with global news agency Reuters, one of the world’s most respected editorial resources. Moreover, the collection will continuously update with Reuters’s recent topical and newsworthy content.

In addition, Pond5 has more than 14 million video clips and tools such as patented visual search. It also integrates all major video-editing software. And all contributors licensing their content on Pond5 receive a revenue share.
