DIR September 2013 Tech Trends: Camera Makers Respond to Consumers’ Desire for Connectivity

As consumers increasingly use photo-sharing services and mobile apps to store and display their images, the camera market is beginning to respond to their connectivity and sharing needs.

Sales of Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras over the past 12 months (ending in July 2013) have nearly topped one million units, according to The NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service. This figure represents over a 400% increase from the same period last year.
