Best Buy To Launch Twitter Effort

Best Buy later this month will begin using the popular social networking site Twitter to help answer customers’ questions about products.

According to Bloomberg News, the company will launch a "Twelpforce" July 19, at which point around 500 employees will begin searching Twitter posts to find customers with questions about flat-panel TVs and other products. The Twelpforce will reach out to customers in order to help answer their questions and steer them towards Best Buy.

The company plans to run TV commercials trumpeting the initiative, chief marketing officer Barry Judge told Bloomberg.
