LicketyShip Alpha launched in the Bay Area last month, promising to deliver electronics and accessories within four hours of a customer’s online order. The company uses patented software to link a customer’s request with both the nearest supplier and their nearest courier to increase the likelihood of snappy delivery. According to the company’s blog, the average delivery time in the first 24 hours was closer to two than four hours. The service, which delivers up to 150 lbs. for $19.99 (weekdays before 5 p.m. – costs increase for other times) is only available in San Francisco but plans to expand its reach and product categories if the launch is successful.
