Samsung Launches Their First Android-Powered Phone

On Monday, Samsung announced the I7500, their first handset powered by Google’s open source Android platform.  The smartphone features a 3.2" AMOLED touchscreen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity.  It houses a 5-megapixel camera, 40GB of memory (8GB internal, up to 32GB external) and 1500mAh of battery life inside a 11.9mm thick frame. 

Google services Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar and Talk are all available.  An integrated GPS reciever enables the My Locations, Latitude, Street View and local search features of Google Maps. 

The phone will be available in Europe in June.  U.S. availability has yet to be announced.
