First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. The next retail event on the holiday season calendar is Free Shipping Day, scheduled for Dec. 17, and more than 450 retailers have signed up, the event's organizers said Monday.
Free Shipping Day is a day in which retailers guarantee both free shipping and arrival prior to Christmas Day, and is being held for the third time. Participating retailers include the Apple Store, Sears and more.
“Numbers show that online shopping dramatically slows after December 10th,” Free Shipping Day organizer Luke Knowles said as part of the announcement. “Free Shipping Day encourages people to continue buying items online later into the month of December, and obviously this is appealing for retailers.”
