Highlights of the Digital Imaging/Photography PMA 2015 Conferences at CES

Jackson, MI—The PMA 2015 Conferences, January 4–5, 2015 at Bally’s Las Vegas, are designed to provide attendees with information, advice and ideas that will help them consider new opportunities to grow their businesses. Here are some highlights.

Under the banner Print Is Important, the following two sessions will show you how to help your customers determine the best options for preserving their memories.

How to Merchandise Personalized Photo Products to a New Breed of Customers

Marion Duchesne and Marie-Eve Lemieux of MediaClip will review key trends in the photo market space. They will discuss how they are impacting consumers’ needs and the way they want to shop and create photo projects.

Different merchandising and marketing strategies that can help providers connect with and retain their customers will be presented. This session will explore and illustrate some of the best practices in terms of product selection, shopping experience, brand interaction with users through social media and other ideas that can positively affect your bottom line.

The Reinvention of Print: It’s Personal, Permanent, Powerful, Profitable

RPI’s CEO, Rick Bellamy, will present this session. He will discuss how brand marketers and print service providers can tap the business opportunity behind the unique and powerful ability of print to make new and real connections with consumers. He will touch on platform evolution, technology integration, marketing innovation, global reach and also environmental sustainability.

AIE Future Imaging Summit 2015

With the Future Imaging Summit, the Association of Imaging Executives (AIE) looks ahead at the near-future impact the latest imaging technology will have on the photography business. The summit will focus on the most important photographic trends and technology coming to market. It will examine what will most impact the businesses of photo retailers within the next five years.

There are constant changes in how people capture, share, print, communicate with and otherwise enjoy pictures. What new sensors, processors and other technology will be in next year’s cameras? What apps, sites and services will people use to share and view photos? How will they permanently display their favorite shots in albums or wall displays?

The Future Imaging Summit will answer these questions and many more. AIE is a PMA member organization. These sessions will be held concurrently with the full PMA conference schedule on January 4–5, 2015. It immediately precedes the PMA Marketplace at CES in Las Vegas.

DIMA 2015

The DIMA 2015 Conference at Bally’s Las Vegas is the premier educational event for digital imaging professionals. The conference takes place January 4–5, as a prelude to CES, January 6–9. The DIMA 2015 Conference will include sessions focusing on the latest in marketing, retail strategy, photo publishing and imaging technology. 

As always, DIMA features the best in imaging professionals sharing what has made them successful in an energetic and technology-laden environment. It is the place to learn about exciting new products as well as professional tips and tricks. You will hear about new trends in the industry that will enable you to grow your business in 2015.

Conference registration also includes the CES Exhibits Plus Pass. The Plus Pass gets you into PMA’s Marketplace and all other 2015  CES exhibits.

AIE Visionary Awards Reception

New this year, the AIE Visionary Awards Reception will take place January 8 from 5 p.m.–6 p.m. during the Digital Imaging/Photography program at CES. This dynamic industry event will bring together representatives of various imaging industries. The awards reception will honor the prime producers in four categories—Cameras & Image Capture, Sharing & Mobile Imaging, Software & Image Enhancement, and Print & Output.

PSPA/SPAA 2015

The PSPA/SPAA 2015 Conference continues to be the premier educational event for school and sports photographers. Now in offers the added bonus for attendees to attend DIMA sessions. They have assembled a cast of energetic photographers who will share the latest techniques and creative marketers who will show you ways to grow your business and ensure profitability.

PSPA/SPAA 2015 will include additional networking opportunities to meet with peers while learning from industry leaders. Conference registration also includes the CES Exhibits Plus Pass. The Plus Pass gets you into PMA’s Marketplace and all 2015 CES exhibits.

IS&T Symposium

The International Technologies for Digital Photo Fulfillment Symposium (TDPF) explores advances in the photographic market that allow us to create, preserve, share and visualize our stories.

TDPF 2015 invites you to showcase products and technologies that help and encourage people to do more with photos and storytelling, with a broad inclusion of topics covering image capture, digital processing and both hard-copy and digital viewing outputs.

The symposium ties together preservation (how to preserve family stories in a digital world), cloud services (how can people share stories created from their photos) and innovative print products (such as combined digital and print photo albums). It will feature a broad range of product topics. These will include photo books, output media, and retail, home, office and commercial fulfillment systems. These all provide new and growth opportunities for the photo fulfillment industry.

Session topics for the 2015 conference include photo organization, digitization of legacy analog products, long-term preservation in both hard copy and digital form, new products coming from the wide-format print and digital press industries, photo gifting, and viewing/sharing via cloud and social media.

Organized and sponsored by the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T), TDPF also offers a unique opportunity for product engineers, researchers and lab/store owners to meet and discuss product advances, system synergies enabled by new technologies, and future directions of creating, printing, sharing, displaying and archiving consumer and professional photos and photo-related products.

PMA 2015 Registration

With a $299 registration fee, PMA members will experience: networking at the Saturday evening PSPA/SPAA Welcome Reception, and all sponsored breaks and luncheons. They can attend top education sessions held Sunday and Monday. These include DIMA, PSPA, SPAA and AIE as well as IS&T’s TDPF Symposium.Attendees will also have an opportunity to see the latest products at the Vendor Reception Sunday evening; the PMA Welcome Reception at Bally’s on January 5; all Digital Imaging/Photography Conference sessions at the Las Vegas Convention Center (South Hall meeting rooms) January 6–7.
