Photography Experience Workshops to Be Held around the World

Union, NJ—Hasselblad, a leading manufacturer of medium-format cameras and lenses, launched the 2017 Hasselblad Experience workshop series. The workshops, held across the world, are designed to offer an “unparalleled educational experience” for photo enthusiasts and pro photographers.

Hosted by a selection of top photographers, the workshops give guests access to a range of professional Hasselblad equipment during the trips. Equipment includes the X1D as well as all existing lenses. Whether participants are new to photography or established photographers, they will be shown a variety of techniques to develop their skills and perfect their shooting and composition—all while visiting some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes.

Workshop attendees can choose from trips that explore the natural phenomenon of Iceland to the Slovenian mountains. During each Hasselblad Experience, product experts will be on-site to ensure guests have confidence using the cameras and improve their photographic style.

The 2017 Hasselblad Experience Schedule

Lisbon and Hamburg Studio Workshops: Ivo von Renner Portrait Session; March – June 2017 (one per month)

For one weekend, guests will receive training on each element of an image structure to the final portrait. The session will show guests how to retain or bring out the physiognomy and character of the object.

Slovenia: Photograph the Beauty of Slovenia in Springtime; May 2–1, 2017

Attendees will experience a range of photographic locations and experiment with a various photography techniques during this 10-day workshop led by Andy Williams. They will discover Slovenia and the Julian Alps and capture images of mountain landscapes, glacial lakes and rivers. Additionally, they can photograph scenes of everyday life in traditional villages, the old walled city of Piran and the historic city of Ljubljana.

Iceland: The Beauty of Aurora Borealis; September 30 – October 7, 2017

Participants will encounter the natural wonder of the Aurora Borealis on one of the world’s most magical islands, with Iceland veteran and Hasselblad Master Hans Strand. They also will have the opportunity to experience aerial photography from a helicopter over Lake Hvitarvatn and learn the unique challenges of landscape photography and how to capture its spaciousness and dynamic energy.

Scotland Skye: Into Thin Air; October 14–21, 2017

Workshop members will travel to one of the most iconic locations for landscape photography. They will be accompanied by Hasselblad Master as well as Scotland expert Tom D. Jones. The Isle of Skye is known for its majestic mountain peaks, roaring waterfalls and also ancient castles. Furthermore, its changing weather patterns create atmospheric lighting conditions that are ideal for dramatic photography.
