Bethlehem, PA—OM Digital Solutions marks its participation in World Photography Day 2023 by paying homage to the art of capturing moments through the lens. With a commitment to educating photography enthusiasts about the OM System, the brand will hold online events from August 15–19, 2023.
First established in 2010, World Photography Day is an internationally recognized occasion that unites photographers in celebrating their craft. To add to the celebrations, OM Digital Solutions will offer a variety of educational content across its digital platforms. They will range from visual showcases to tutorials and interviews.
A highlight includes a series of virtual live events hosted by OM System ambassadors and technical experts from around the globe. Moreover, the company will conduct these events in seven languages. “Participants can anticipate interactive sessions, thought-provoking discussions and valuable insights that will enrich their photographic journey,” the company stated.
OM System World Photography Day 2023 Highlights
To extend the festivities, OM Digital Solutions will kick off the celebrations early, starting on August 15, 2023. The events are geared toward all photography enthusiasts, whether amateurs or professionals. The company created the events to allow participants to explore new horizons and push the boundaries of their craft.

Following are some highlights of the scheduled online events.
August 15, 6 p.m. ET: Long Exposure, Live Comp & Light Painting
Join Mike Amico in this class all about long-exposure features in OM System cameras. Mike will go over the different modes available and how to use them. He will also offer some tips on settings that will help you on your journey to great images. This class will also feature a live light painting demonstration. 
August 15 AT 8 p.m. ET: Customizing Your OM-1
In this session, technical expert Aaron Harviel will cover the ins and outs of customizing your OM-1. He’ll discuss programing function buttons, custom modes as well as some tips and tricks based on different genres.
August 16, 2 p.m. ET: Bugs ’n Stuff: Macro Photography
OM System Ambassador Ben Salb will share why he started photographing insects and spiders. He will show you what gear he uses for his works. He will also explain what techniques his uses, including focus bracketing and stacking—and post-processing. In addition, Salb will share the thrill and agony of capturing high-frame, high-magnification focus brackets of living subjects.

August 17, 2 p.m. ET: Unleashing Macro Magic
In this special edition of Tech Thursday, OM Digital Solutions will celebrate World Photography Day a little early by diving deep into the world of macro photography. This YouTube live stream will explore the capabilities of OM System cameras and lenses designed specifically to capture close-up shots. Tech expert David Smith will share insights, tips and tricks to help you master the art of macro photography using OM System gear. As a livestream viewer, you can ask questions and seek personalized advice.
August 21, at 1 p.m. ET : The System for Great Bird-in-Flight Photography
Bird-in-flight photography can be as easy as photographing gulls along a wide-open beach or moderately difficult by photographing puffins flying back to their burrow. And it can extend to extremely challenging with swifts and swallows darting from one place to another. 
This presentation by OM System Ambassador Lee Hoy will discuss the factors that comprise bird-in-flight photography. This includes the subject, setting, light, autofocus, drive mode, exposure as well as composition. In addition, this virtual event is in partnership with B&H.
