Ronkonkoma, NY—Sigma Corporation of America released the Sigma Lens Workshops lineup for March. The workshops offer photographers in New York and Indiana the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in unique photographic genres with guidance from Sigma’s photo specialists. The instructors boast extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of the photography craft.

Moreover, the educational events cover such topics as astro and food photography. They are aimed at inspiring and bringing the local photographic communities closer together to refine their skills as well as foster the art of photography.

Sigma Lens Workshops March Schedule

Astrophotography Workshop

Roberts Camera hosts an astrophotography workshop on March 9, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The two-part workshop includes in-depth instruction from seasoned photographers Marc Lebryk, Brian Matsumoto and Walt Kuhn.

Saturday, March 9, 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.: Astrophotography Lecture

Roberts Camera invites photographers to attend this lecture and learn about the best configuration settings for astrophotography. The event also features a Sigma lens sale.

Saturday, March 9, 7:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m.: Hands-on Shooting

Attendees meet at McCloud Nature Park in North Salem, Indiana, to capture some stunning night shots of their own. Sigma lenses will be available on loan.

Johnson Studio & Camera hosts a two-day workshop on macro photography, March 22–23, 2019 in Syracuse, New York. Sigma reps Marc Farb and Lee Frost will share capture tips as well as how-to instruction. In addition, hands-on demo shooting of a collection of delicious snacks is included. With their workshop registration, attendees receive a $15 Johnson Camera gift card.

Friday & Saturday, March 22–23: Macro Photography Lectures

Participants can choose from three sessions for an engaging lecture taught by Sigma technical representative Marc Farb. It covers the techniques to master macro photography, such as focal lengths, depth of field and focus. In addition, the lecture precedes a hands-on shooting of mouth-watering props to help photographers refine their techniques for food and macro photography. Sigma lenses also will be available on loan.

Friday & Saturday, March 22–23: Free In-Store Demo & Instruction

Marc Farb and Lee Frost also discuss their shooting tips and lens choices within the comprehensive Sigma lens lineup.

Sigma Dealer Workshops

Designed in collaboration with Sigma dealers around the country, the program engages photographers wanting to learn new techniques as well as refine their photography skills. The workshops comprise a series of classroom lectures as well as hands-on workshops.

Moreover, led by Sigma technical representatives and photography experts, each session hones in on a specific genre of photography, such as portraiture or landscape. Normally they are two-day workshop events. Day one focuses on theory and educational best practices, such as lighting, gear setup, camera settings and also lens focal length. On day two, attendees put their newly acquired knowledge to the test with immersive hands-on, real-world photo shoots and photo walks.
