Los Angeles, CA—DJI launched a new video transmission system with advanced software defined radio (SDR) technology. For small- and medium-sized film crews, the DJI SDR Video Transmission device offers enhanced stability, stronger interference resistance as well as more robust penetration capabilities.
DJI SDR Video Transmission Key Features
The device enables stable video transmissions even in complex shooting environments. When faced with interferences on a channel, it automatically hops across 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz and DFS frequency bands.
Other features include:
- On the monitors, filmmakers see 1080p/60-fps live feeds with up to a 20Mbps bit rate.
- Delay is as low as 35 milliseconds.
- Additionally, video transmits 1.8 miles away.
- The units output three SDR signals and two Wi-Fi signals simultaneously. In broadcast mode, it connects to unlimited receivers, for multiple collaborators.
- The receiver connects to monitors via SDI/HDMI and smartphones/tablets via USB-C or Wi-Fi.
- Paired with a camera, it supports PTP control, displaying and adjusting aperture, shutter as well as ISO. It also triggers the camera’s photo-taking and video-recording functions through the app.
- Moreover, it supports CEC control of Sony cameras for mirror control mode.
- The device uses a standard PD protocol charger with a USB-C power input.
- On their own, the transmitter and receiver support NP-F batteries.
- A single transmitter or receiver weighs 5.1 ounces.
- The antenna folds down for easy transport and storage.
