Union, NJ—Hasselblad expanded its photographic tool kit for the X system with the introduction of the Release Cord X and a battery charging hub. The two accessories, alongside the introduction of the newest XCD lenses, enhance the creative capabilities of the mirrorless medium-format X1D-50c camera.

The new release cord allows for remote shutter actuation, a helpful tool when eliminating shake or vibration is paramount. The cloth-wrapped 36-inch cable connects to the X1D-50c’s microphone input port. Moreover, the remote’s single-button operation helps photographers keep vibration to a minimum.

A single action starts autofocus and then releases the shutter. Also, multiple frame rates are captured when holding the button down in continuous capture mode. In addition, setting the camera in manual focus mode allows for the Release Cord X to fire the shutter without delay.

Furthermore, Hasselblad announced that its “durable metal construction matches the adventurous endeavors of Hasselblad’s X system users. And its slim, ergonomic design fits comfortably in the hand.”

The X1D should be updated to the latest 1.22 firmware at My Hasselblad. The Hasselblad Release Cord X is available for purchase with an SRP of $80.

Hasselblad Battery Charging Hub

The accessory charging hub makes it possible for Hasselblad photographers to streamline the battery charging process. Its dual slots support the simultaneous charging of two batteries. Moreover, an integrated USB Type-C connector supports main power via an included power supply or from common external USB battery banks (sold separately).

The metal hub also supports both first-generation 3200mAh X system batteries and current 3400mAh batteries.

The latter provides charging up to 25% faster than the former. This equates to a completely replenished single battery in 2 hours 18 minutes, or dual batteries in 2 hours 48 minutes.

First-generation 3200mAh batteries recharge completely in approximately 3 hours. Also, an audible chime in either situation indicates completed charging cycles.

The X-system battery charging hub sells for $155.
