Newark, NJ—The new Panasonic Lumix S1RII is the latest high-resolution camera in the full-frame, mirrorless Lumix S series. It features a newly developed 44.3-megapixel (MP) BSI CMOS sensor and an engine with L2 Technology. They work to deliver high-res stills as well as video with Lumix’s natural color science. What’s more, its high-resolution mode allows for handheld shooting at approximately 177MP.
Additionally, it’s the first Lumix camera to realize 8K video recording at 14 stops of dynamic range. Its Open Gate feature was also enhanced to shoot in 6.4K, and even up to 8.1K/7.2K with a future firmware update. Furthermore, a first for the series, the camera supports internal recording of 5.8K Apple ProRes RAW HQ/ProRes RAW to a CFexpress Type B card.
