Florham Park, NJ—Leica photographers have not been able to access TTL and HSS with the Profoto lighting system. Until now. Through a new collaboration, Leica photographers can for the first time explore Profoto lighting. The new Profoto Connect Pro for Leica is their gateway.

“The heritage of Leica has impacted generations of photographers. Now opening the door to industry leading TTL and HSS is a natural progression in the brand’s constant strive for perfection,” Profoto announced. “With the Profoto Connect Pro’s intent of reducing and simplifying, the match between Leica and Profoto is obvious.”

Profoto Connect Pro

The Profoto Connect Pro is an accessory for photographers who need to rely on simplicity and consistency when shooting in the field. With intuitive controls, the transmitter is a solution in varied light where proven TTL and HSS can speed up workflows.

Moreover, the Connect Pro needs no manual. Photographers can put it in the hot shoe and fire away. They can also fine-tune the power setting in absolute numbers on the go. In addition, Profoto’s AirX technology tailor’s workflow to the situation. That’s because the information on the Connect Pro is mirrored through the Profoto Control app for smartphones or tablets. And with up to 100 available channels, there’s enough fire power for any size job.

Further, Leica SL2 and SL2-S cameras have full compatibility (TTL and HSS) with the new Connect Pro. Plus, Profoto intends to add more models during the year. However, photographers can now use the Connect Pro with other Leica cameras in manual mode, without TTL and HSS.

The Connect Pro for Leica joins versions already available for Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and Sony camera models. It has a suggested retail price of $399.
