Pinewood Studios, UK—Following the successful launch of the Rotolight NEO 3 and AEOS 2 photography and video LED lights, Rotolight announced an Indiegogo campaign for the Rotolight NEO 3 Pro and AEOS 2 Pro edition lights.

“We’re delighted to announce Rotolight’s latest campaign and the launch of the NEO 3 and AEOS 2 Pro editions. They utilize state-of-the-art technology to provide the ultimate lighting tools for photographers and filmmakers around the world,” said Rod Aaron Gammons, CEO, Rotolight.

“Our engineering teams were hard at work to deliver the latest features and enhancements. And we’re really excited to see what our customers create with these new lights.”

Both Pro editions combine the shoot-what-you-see benefits of continuous light with a high-speed sync RGBWW flash. They also provide 3 stops more flash power than the previous generation.

Rotolight NEO 3 Pro & AEOS 2 Pro Features

The new editions allow photographers and videographers to use flash in any Kelvin from 3000–10,000, as well as any of 16.7 million colors or 2,500 digital filters, with zero recycle time. They can also recall favorite settings thanks to an intuitive, full-color touchscreen display.

They also feature a new rechargeable lithium battery. Other hardware upgrades in the signature Pro editions include solid aluminum dials on the NEO 3 and metallic red anodized handles on the AEOS 2.

Moreover, both LED lights feature up to +25% greater continuous light output than previous models. They also offer wireless flash trigger compatibility. Built-in Godox, Profoto, Elinchrom, Neewer and Pixapro flash receivers provide flexibility for photographers wanting to wirelessly integrate Rotolight into existing systems. They can also use transmitters they already own with Rotolight’s RGBWW HSS flash capability.

In addition, the units feature all-new quick-access Kelvin presets in CCT mode. Consequently, users can quickly access popular lighting scenarios, including 5600K (daylight), 3200K tungsten and 4600K (midpoint).

Furthermore, they provide four new special FX (SFX) for filmmakers. These effects comprise fireworks, candle, disco and throb. They join the enhancements to the existing suite of SFX found in the standard models, designed by Emmy-winning visual FX veteran Stefan Lange.

What’s more, True Aperture Dimming technology uses patented Rotolight tech to calculate and display the light output as an F-stop for a subject at a given distance, ISO and shutter speed. As a result, the devices eliminate the need for a light meter.

Masters of Light Preset Packs

Bundled with the Pro editions are Masters of Light Preset packs. They include 100+ built-in exclusive special effects, gel and HSI color presets. They also provide tutorial videos from some of the world’s leading photographers and Emmy-winning filmmakers.

SFX presets are designed by two-time Emmy Award winner Roy Wagner (Nightmare on Elm Street, House, Ray Donovan); Emmy-winning visual FX veteran Stefan Lange (Batman, Tombraider, No Time to Die); and Cinematographer of the Year 2021 Denson Baker (The Colour Room, Ophelia, The Lumineers).

In addition, the packs include HSI/gel presets designed by leading portrait and fashion photographers Jake Hicks, Sam Nash and Jason Lanier.

Users can select a favorite creative preset directly from within the light or via the Rotolight iOS/Android app, with an on-screen color preview.

The Rotolight NEO 3 Pro Imagemaker kit includes a NEO3 Pro, a custom NPF-770 battery, a pouch, a diffuser dome, a ball head and a cold shoe. With a suggested retail price of $749, Rotolight will release this kit February 1, 2023.

The Rotolight AEOS 2 Pro Imagemaker kit comprises an AEOS 2 Pro flash, a diffuser dome, a 95Wh battery and charger, a yoke as well as a soft bag. With an SRP of $1,999, it also ships February 1, 2023.
