Fujifilm GFX Eterna Development Unveiled: Fujifilm’s First Digital Filmmaking Camera

Valhalla, NY—Fujifilm Corporation announced that it is developing its first digital filmmaking camera. Further, the company plans to release the Fujifilm GFX Eterna cinema camera  in 2025.

Fujifilm GFX Eterna Details

The GFX Eterna camera will feature:

  • The large-format GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor that’s 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor
  • The X-Processor 5 high-speed image-processing engine
  • The ability to create rich, true-to-life visuals
  • Enhanced flexibility in postproduction
  • A native G mount with a removable PL adapter.

Since its founding in 1934, the Fujifilm Group has played a role in the global film industry. Notably it developed Eterna series motion picture color negative film as well as Premista and ZK Cabrio series cinema zoom lenses. Fujifilm introduced its GFX system of mirrorless digital cameras in 2017, adding continuous improvements since, including its video capabilities. Fujifilm GFX Eterna

The GFX Eterna will leverage Fujifilm’s expertise and experience in the field of filmmaking. Moreover, the company will combine the capabilities of Fujinon lenses with the technology of GFX system cameras.

In addition, the company is also working on the development of a GF power zoom lens. It is planned to have a focal length range of 32–90mm.
