Melville, NY—For the U.S. market, Nikon Inc. is releasing the all-new Nikon D850 Filmmaker’s Kit. The custom bundle is specifically designed for content creators and filmmakers looking to take advantage of the D850 multimedia DSLR’s video capabilities and controls.
The key component of the kit is the Nikon D850 camera, which offers such advanced features as full-frame, 4K UHD video capture at 24/30 fps as well as 8K and 4K time-lapse movie recording. Other pro video functions include focus peaking, zebra stripes, HDMI output and enhanced audio level control.
The Nikon D850 Filmmaker’s Kit additionally includes a trio of Nikkor f/1.8 prime lenses. Moreover, they are all said to “exhibit the clarity and sharpness needed for 4K Ultra HD video.”
The three lenses are the AF-S Nikkor 20mm f/1.8G ED, AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G ED and AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G.
The kit also contains an external 4K Atomos Ninja Flame recorder/monitor. The monitor comes with its power kit, docking station and a coiled HDMI cable. Using the Atomos Ninja Flame, whether creating content for a blog or a creative project, recordings are instantly upgraded to ProRes as well as DNxHR Hollywood standards.
Other kit components are a hot shoe, the ME-1 stereo microphone and also the ME-W1 wireless microphone. An extra EN-EL15A battery allows for up to 70 minutes of video recording.
While a hard case for transporting the kit is sold separately, custom foam inserts are also included.
