Appleton, WI—A Digital Shoebox is marketing its new SlideSnap Pro as the “fastest high-quality slide scanner in the world for under $3,500.” Using the 3,800-dpi automated, hands-off scanning system, all users need are a compatible DSLR and lens to scan an 80-slide Kodak carousel in less than four minutes at 3,800 dpi.

If the slides are not in carousels, you can use the slide stacker that automatically scans 40-slide batches in less than two minutes.

The SlideSnap Pro, said to be the fastest slide digitizing system, is targeted at discerning imaging professionals. It leverages the concept of “Slide Reproduction by Photography” for fast and faithful slide scans. A modified slide projector automatically presents slides to be “snapped” by a DSLR. The Kodak projectors at the heart of every unit were designed for long-term professional use, with a precision slide advance mechanism.

SlideSnap Pro features: scan speeds of 20-40 slides per minute (depending on settings) and adjustable speeds; 3,800-dpi scans (with a 16.1MP camera); even back lighting with an array of LEDs; a simple rotary encoder-based control; an LED digital readout/slide counter; audible alerts; and continuous scanning as well as the ability to automatically sense an empty side slot and pause the batch. The unit accepts Kodak slide carousels of 80 and 140 count directly from your customers. slidesnappro.com
