Datacolor Spyder X2 Ultra
With lens-based expanded sensor capabilities, the Spyder X2 Ultra allows for calibration of HDR/high-brightness monitors up to 2000 cd/m2 (nits). As a result, the device is an option for photo, video and hybrid use. It also works well for viewing HDR/high-brightness content on computer-connected TVs and projectors.
The product is useful for tethered shooting; outdoor shoots where bright monitors attached to a computer are essential; location shooting (photo or video); landscape photography; as well as outdoor or in-studio portraiture.

Datacolor Spyder X2 Elite
Furthermore, the Spyder X2 Elite provides the Spyder line’s color customization, control and accuracy. In addition, it offers the option for a seamless and affordable software upgrade to the X2 Ultra without the need to purchase additional hardware.
This color calibration tool for display monitors is for photographers, hybrid photo/video producers, digital designers and content creators with standard to advanced calibration needs who may run multiple displays on one or more computers. It’s a solution for studios/set workspaces.
The Datacolor Spyder X2 Elite has a suggested retail price of $269.99.
Both devices feature new hardware with a native USB-C connection. They also include a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
What’s more, the redesigned software user interface of the X2 platform brings a more concise experience to both the X2 Elite and X2 Ultra. Novices to calibration will also appreciate expert-recommended calibration presets.
