Meriden, NH—The latest advance from the Nissin Group is the MG8000 Extreme Flash. Billed as “the worlds first ‘machine gun’ camera flash,” it was formally introduced at photokina in Cologne, Germany.

Geared for heavy use, where maximum flash output is required over a long period of time without overheating or shutting down, the flash is engineered to produce more than 1,000 continuous 1/1 flashes without overheating.

The MG8000 delivers all the features of the Nissin Di866 Mark II flash, with the added advantage of unequalled heat resistance. The key to this breakthrough is Nissin’s use of special heat-resistant materials developed for this flash, and Nissin also replaced the traditional flash tube with a quartz tube to significantly reduce heat.

The speed and performance of the flash unit, which supports Canon E-TTL II and Nikon iTTL systems, is enhanced when it is used with an external Nissin PS300 power pack. Shipping with an add-on diffuser and powered by four AA NiMH or lithium batteries, the MG8000 has a recycle time of 5.5 seconds with fresh batteries and faster with the PS300 power pack. Weighing 14.7 ounces and measuring 5.8×3.1×5 inches, the Nissin MG8000 retails for $629.

Nissin flash units are distributed in the U.S. exclusively by Minox USA and come with a two-year warranty. minox.com/usa
