Allendale, NJ—Ona created the Berlin II camera bag for the Leica M system to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 35mm camera in 2014. As a follow-up to this collaboration, Leica Camera and Ona have again come together to offer the Ona for Leica collection of camera bags.
The collection features six bags crafted by Ona, an American manufacturer of premium camera bags. Each one is lined in red and also features a red rivet—a discreet reference to Leica. Leica Camera will offer them in a range of material as well as color combinations.
The Bowery for Leica
This special edition of Ona’s Bowery camera bag is designed to provide stylish as well as practical protection for Leica camera equipment. Two of the five models are crafted from Italian leather with a lightly waxed finish. The other three are made from waterproof canvas fabric. Additionally, with five compartments, the Bowery provides enough room for a Leica M camera, one to two M lenses and personal items. By detaching the carrying strap, the bag becomes a padded insert for stowing camera equipment in a larger bag or case.
The Prince Street for Leica
Uniting the look of a casual shoulder bag with the practical advantages of a camera bag, the Prince Street for Leica is a unique messenger style bag. Two models in leather and three in canvas with leather trim offer ample space for photographic equipment. Furthermore, two retro-looking clip buckles ensure that contents are safely locked away. Six compartments accommodate one Leica M camera with two to three lenses, an 11-inch laptop or tablet, and also personal items.
The Brixton for Leica
This bag is available in five different versions. The antique cognac and dark truffle models are crafted from wax-finished Italian leather. The other three Brixton bags are made from water-repellent waxed canvas and come in black, field tan and smoke. All five provide outer pockets and compartments and adaptable stowage space. The bags fit a camera, two to three lenses, small personal items and a 13-inch laptop.
The Berlin II for Leica
Also crafted from Italian leather, it comes in black or vintage bourbon versions and is especially designed for the Leica M system. The Berlin II provides room for one camera, two to three lenses and small personal items. Additionally, it’s said to develop a unique patina over time. Storage space inside the bag is flexible and lined in typical Leica red: four dividers can be used to customize the interior to meet specific needs. The dividers can also be completely removed. The bags also offer space for documents in a back compartment and feature a front pocket with a zip-fastener for small items.
The Camps Bay for Leica
The smoke-colored rucksack in water-repellent canvas and leather appliqués is geared for the comfortable transportation of large amounts of equipment. Additionally, its interior can be adapted to meet the needs of a photographer’s equipment or make room for personal items. The padded main compartment provides space for one camera with up to seven lenses as well as a 17-inch laptop. Smaller items also can be stowed in a pocket with a zip fastener on the front of the rucksack. Both the straps and the back of the rucksack are also padded and covered with breathable fabric.
The Roma for Leica
This insert bag/organizer has five compartments and is designed to transform almost any bag into a camera bag. Its water-repellent canvas offers protection for equipment. In addition, leather grips make it easier to remove it from other bags. The Roma is geared for day trips, when photographers only want to take a camera, a lens and a couple of small items. leica-camera.us
