Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L
The flagship of the Travel line is the Travel Backpack 45L. The carry-on-sized backpack boasts travel functionality and is accompanied by a system of Packing Tools. The system provides customizable organization and protection of photo/video gear, tech items and also clothes and toiletries.
In addition to full rear access for easy packing, the bag provides dual side access, top access to a laptop/tablet, and also a dedicated front-access organization panel for smaller items. Moreover, shoulder and waist straps stow beneath a magnetically sealed back pad.
Also, expansion zips allow the bag to grow to 45L check-in size, while a compression snap system shrinks the bag down to a 35L daypack. Other details include 360ยบ grab handles, a duffle/luggage carry handle, theft-deterrent zips, hidden passport pockets, a soft-lined sunglasses pocket and tuck-away external carry compression straps.
The Travel Backpack comes with a weatherproof 400D nylon canvas shell made from 100% recycled plastics. In addition, there is a 900D weatherproof bottom liner. The pack is available in black or sage.
Travel Backpack Packing Tools
Packing Tools provide customizable organization and protection of items stored in the backpack. Designed to fit perfectly in Peak Design travel bags, each cube or pouch offers access, organization, durable materials and a consistent aesthetic. Each Packing Tool, including the camera cubes, was created from the onset as a stand-alone product.
The camera cubes provide protection, organization and access to camera, video and drone gear. They may be securely mounted inside the Travel backpack for access to gear via the rear or side zips. In addition, tuck-away lids let users access camera gear from outside of the bag via a single zip. Moreover, dividers enable customization.
Camera cubes will have the following suggested retail prices: small, $49.95; medium, $69.95; and large, $89.95.
In addition, a tech pouch ($59.95) stores small items like cables, cards, batteries and travel essentials. Its origami-style pockets create spatial efficiency. Moreover, the Rain Fly ($29.95) provides waterproof protection to the already weatherproof backpack. Rain Fly is made of ultralight 200D rip-stop nylon, adjusts via a cinch cord for a snug fit and stuffs into a storage pocket.
Peak Designโs Travel Backpack has an SRP of $299.95. The system will be available for purchase in time for the 2018 holiday season.
