Torrance, CA—Pelican Products announced that cases in the Pelican Protector Long Case series have received an upgrade. Since 1976, Pelican Protector cases have been designed to withstand the harshest environments on Earth and protect the equipment within their rugged enclosures.
Made in the USA, these cases feature an automatic purge valve that equalizes air pressure; a watertight silicone O-ring lid; over-molded rubber handles; as well as stainless steel hardware. The updated cases come in a choice of black, tan and green.
Pelican Protector Long Case Updates
Updates to the Protector 1700 long case include a large over-molded folding top handle as well as over-molded side handles on both sides. In addition, Pelican added a 2-inch cored latch. The wheels are also spread further apart, providing more stability and a stable standing orientation. It also features lid bosses that allow for one or two EZ-Click MOLLE panels for lid organization. The suggested retail price is $309.95.
What’s more, the Protector 1720 ($324.95) and 1750 ($334.95) long cases both feature a new 2-inch cored latch; a two-hand over-molded top handle; and over-molded side handles on both sides. Lid bosses also allow for the placement of up to three EZ-Click MOLLE panels.
In addition to the protection a Protector case provides, Pelican now offers protection on the inside. The new Pelican Anti-Corrosion Intercept Kit is an environmentally friendly kit that protects items from airborne contaminates that cause corrosion. Further, it does so with no outgassing of harmful chemical vapors. The kit can protect a variety of items, including photography equipment.
Other shared Protector case features include easy open double-throw latches; stainless steel hardware and padlock protectors; 12 lid bosses for mounting of multiple 1500MP EZ-Click MOLLE panels; a 3-piece foam set; polyurethane wheels with stainless steel bearings; watertight, crushproof and dustproof construction; an open cell core with a solid wall design; as well as fold-down, side handles on both ends for additional carrying options.
